Tens of Thousands of innocent lives have been lost to one of the most tragic natural disasters in recent history. Even though a natural disaster like this may not be directly blamed on any particular groups or government, the number of lost human lives could have been greatly reduced by implementation of the most basic disaster warning system in a part of the world which is constantly endangered by Earthquakes, volcanos and monsoons alike.

Darkness. Two people walk onto the stage. The lights go up to reveal actors holding placards in f ron t of their faces. They are refugees, part of the faceless masses in Europe's major cities.

A man carries his case onto the stage. This is Thabo Nkomo, a poet from Zimbabwe, on his way to a new life in London. He hopes for a "delicious Sunday roast of true justice, ...... fried potatoes of love, ...... and freedom of choice."

Musicians Against Nuclear Arms 21st Anniversary Concert

 Musicians Against Nuclear Arms celebrated their 21st anniversary in yet another concert for peace in the St. James's Piccadilly on the 30th of October.

The church was fully packed of people who could not wait to see and hear the MANA Chamber Orchestra, under the baton of the distinguish Conductor Sir Charles Mackerras.

I have selected the main points and translated them into English. This summary contains the main points of the interview including Golestan's political background, his literary activities, his work for Iranian-British Oil Consortium, the setting up of Studio Golestan and his documentary film productions, and his cooperation with Farrokh Ghaffari in organizing the programmes of the first Film Club of Iran.

IVAYLO PETROV – THE GREAT BULGARIAN NOVELIST

 Ivaylo Petrov, the prominent Bulgarian novelist, was born on 19 January 1923 in the village of Bdintzi, Bulgaria. Ivaylo Petrov is his pseudonym, his real name is Prodan Petrov Kyuchukov. There is a very interesting story why the writer chose that pseudonym: be brought his stories to the editors of a literary magazine in Varna, a big Bulgarian town at the Black Sea coast. The editor said the story was no good.
