| Debris of civilization… a
rusted past… proofs of a formerly better
world… abolished by war… frozen in
rust… waiting for someone to revive history… yet
new traditions have been applied…
the ship is yet sinking… passengers are
floating… surviving… awaiting for
the captain to bring them back on board… yet
knowing it may take very long, they become self-reliant…
I no longer live on 34, Hamra Street; I now
live next to the butcher, one block away from
the pharmacist, in the yellow building, besides
the pink one.

A new generation is being built, the old one
is freezing, and all signs of civilization have
become street art, displayed to amuse the viewer,
the photographer, the lost tourist...
and until further notice, this street art amongst
other war leftovers is what gives Beirut its
charm, its touch, its raw beauty, the result
of 17 years of war………..
